In January we held our fourth conference in Kathmandu. The atmosphere was fantastic, right from the start. Fifty-six pastors and ladies evangelists attended. These wonderful mountain folk are so committed. Many had walked for a day or two to get to their nearest road in order to catch a bus to get to Kathmandu.
There was a hunger to hear from the Lord and to understand His Word. As well as studying how to preach the gospel from the Old Testament we had some talks on the person and work of the Holy Spirit. Many testified to how they had their questions answered and misunderstandings cleared up.
There were some very encouraging one to one conversations. One pastor told us that he came to PTI three years ago as a newly converted Hindu accompanying his pastor. He was so inspired by the teaching that he dedicated his life to ministry. He is now pastor of several house churches.
Another young pastor who ministers to two village churches near Mt Everest told us “I came to the conference very discouraged and with low expectations. However, over the four days I felt refreshed, encouraged and excited to get back to preaching God’s Word and serving God’s people. I have never been to such an encouraging and challenging pastors’ conference.”
